Morning!
This coming week is Teacher Appreciation Week at my kids' school. So I wanted to come up with a gift for my two youngests' teachers. I found a tutorial at http://www.stampingschool.com/ for these cool notebook cases.
I used an empty plastic stamp case from Stampin' Up! The designer paper is from Creative Imaginations that I bought at either Joann's or Michaels. I used real Kindergarten writing paper and my Top Note die to create the "Notes" label on the front. Then cut out the bookworm from part of the designer paper and placed it over the Top Note Die. I used Real Red and Old Olive ribbon and my circle punches to cut out the apple and mount it to Real Red cardstock for the ribbon ties. The pocket on the inside is made with Summer Sun and Basic Black cardstock. Again, I cut out this fun image of the crayon from the designer paper to put on the front of the pocket. My Kindergartener will make a small thank you card to tuck into the pocket.
I found some small clipboards with note pads on clearance ($2 each) at Office Max. The note pad measures 5 x 7. And I used the note pad from the clipboard as it was the exact size I needed. Hoping to decorate the clipboards for another project some day. I also found some small, sleek pens at Office Max that fit at the bottom of the note pad and the case will still close.
Check out the tutorial. These were fun and easy to make. And what a great teacher gift. Thanks for stopping by.
