September Calendar Girls Challenge

It's time for the Calendar Girls Challenge. This month our hostess, Paola, Miss September, gave us the following challenges to choose from:

1. Music. Create a card reflecting the lyrics of the three song choices she gave us.

2. Education. Create a card with a special teacher in mind and the card must have an apple on it somewhere.

3. Children. Create a card reflecting something a child would like to do, i.e. playing, reading, toys or sports. The card also had to be cheeful and reflect the Fall colors.

I chose challenge number 3. I used the fall color scheme of Ruby Red, More Mustard and Old Olive. (I saw this color scheme and image on a card on SCS) so I used that and added my swinging boy and sentiment and a few extras. My images are stamped on Very Vanilla. I used SU's Season of Frienship and Recess sets for my images. Added a couple of buttons with some twine and used my photo corner and oval punches. Swinging was something I loved to do as a child and so does my youngest. We are also to gift our card to a child (other than ours) who may need a little lift or smile. At this time, I am not sure who I will gift my card too but I do work in a school so I am sure I can find someone to gift it to there or at my kids' school.

Thanks for stopping by and please check out the other Calendar Girls blogs (see my sidebar).

Happy Fall!

Oh, your card is so fun!

The tree is great with the multi-colored leaves.

The corners are fab and even more so with the layering.

We were the kids that tried to see how high we could swing, then jump out! Not so good sometimes! ;) LOL

I love the little swinging boy!! How fun!!

I started to use this set on my card too, but it didn't give me the look I wanted so I switched it. Glad I did because our cards would have been really similar!!

I absolutely love Debbie! Great job!!

What a fun and cheerful card, Deb! This just makes me smile! Such a happy scene and the tree is just wonderful! I'm sure it won't be long before you find a home for this lil beauty - we busy school moms always have to have a "go to" pile! Big hugs to you! x0x0

I love everything about your card and am certain that when you find the right child to give it to, he/she is going to be proud as can be to have a handmade treasure from you!

Great take on the challenge, DJ! I love that Season of Friendship stamp set, and you've definitely rose to this challenge by combining the two sets you did! Very well done!!!
