Calendar Girls Welcome Summer

Our challenge this month was to create a card that best suits our beginning to summer or summer plans.  I created a card (differing a little from the sketch we were to use) that absolutely SCREAMS summer in our house.  You know the rhyme...."I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream."

Our youngest can hear the music from the ice cream truck a mile away and she starts screaming for ice cream.  As soon as that music gets closer and louder, all the kids are running out the door and down the driveway, yelling for me to hurry up with the money!

So here is my card that shows summer has really come to our house:

I used Whisper White, Rose Red, Yo Yo Yellow and Gable Green cardstock.  The designer paper is from a pack I bought in the $1 section at Target.  My stamp is from A Muse Stamps and colored with my Copic Markers.  I used my Nestabilities, MS punch and black brads to finish my card.

Thanks for stopping by and please be sure to check out all the Calendar Girls summer creations - see my sidebar for a list of their blogs.

Thanks!

Oh, I am with your youngest...I love skippy!! You need correct change in my neighborhood or you end up with a ton of nickels and dimes (or extra ice cream, oh darn)!

Great card and I am loving the stamp you used!

I love your card Debbie! Perfect paper and that image is so sweet. I am not sure we have ice cream trucks anymore--it has been a few years since one went through our subdivision--but I was one that was running down the driveway to meet him!

Oh my goodness, Deb.......... this card is soooooooo cute! Now I want ice cream. If I scream loud enough, will you get me a treat, too, the next time the ice cream trucks rolls by?

I think the goo punch is awesome and it sure is creative using it on this card!

Darling card! I love how you used the MS punch to create ice cream melting!

Okay, kind freaky...our ice cream man is in a van. Yep. Albeit, a really nice family van - not a 70's no window van - but sketchy just the same!

Our neighbor girl knows that she cannot go to the van by herself. Last go around, her mom was in the house and she was in the garage and came tearing over to DH and said she missed the ice cream man as she could not go by herself.

That sweet DH of mine was in the middle of doing something and he stopped so they could hop in the truck and to go find it. Yep, stalking the ice cream man through the neighborhood.

Great card!!!

Cute card Debbie! I love the ice cream truck stamp, how cute!

I still get excited to hear the ice cream truck, but never get the ice cream anymore. It's fun to hear the music, feel the rush and get the happy feeling of childhood back! Thanks for the walk down memory lane ☺

Love it!!
