Calendar Girls January Challenge

Jeanette was a our hostess for the January Calendar Girls challenge.  And her challenge was....

I want you to find a photo – it can be a picture you’ve taken (of a family member, a scenic drive, a food you’ve cooked, whatever) or it can be a picture someone else has taken. Maybe you even found it on the internet. After you’ve chosen the PHOTO you want to use, create a card/project inspired by that photo.

Of course on your blog post – when you show us your creation – we also want to see the photo that inspired you.

I did not quite follow this challenge...exactly...

I made the card below a few months ago in another swap where my theme was rainbows...and this is a picture of it, and it is a picture on my computer...hahahaha...

I cannot exactly remember where I found the layout design but I really liked it.  And I really liked the bright and cheerful colors in the DP and the cardstock I matched to that.  That got me thinking this would be a great birthday card because it is SO bright and cheerful.  So that's what lead me to make this card...

I used the same layout, colors, and DP but changed up the image and added the scalloped circles behind it.  I used Crystal Effects on the heart on the top of the cupcake and glued micro beads to the cupcake to give the "frosting" some texture.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please check out all the Calendar Girls creations.  See my sidebar for their blogs.

I so love that your photo was a photo of a card! Genius!

I agree that the papers and colors are great. I like them both and it is a good layout.

Thanks, for sharing!

You are so right, Debbie, this is a great color scheme and a great layout! I love those bright colors and the double scalloped circles behind the cupcake are really fun. Who would not smile with cupcakes and rainbows on their birthday? Great job!

Cheater! LOL! I'm just kidding... because you didn't do anything wrong. The photo you chose for inspiration was/is a GREAT card that you just happened to make. And your card for this post is equally beautiful!

Love the fun colors and those great rainbows. Love the layout! (I giggled a bit when my mind made me think it was a camera - after seeing all of Kelly's greetings on SCS today, I have camera on the brain, I guess.)

Thanks for taking on the challenge beautifully and for being a Calendar Girl!
