Barbeque Babes!

It's time for another round of the Dueling Darlings.  The Dazzlers and Divas are HOT!, HOT!, HOT!  this month dueling it out with the wonderful summer theme of cookouts!!!

Darlene, was the hostess this month for the Dazzlers and she sent an awesome and overflowing kit.

The kit included:
Image is from Art Impression's "Golden Oldies series, entitled BBQ Couple  (isn't it fun?!)
DP:  Karen Foster Designs: Food & Family Collage; Ants on Parade; Barbecue Bash
DP: Reminisce:  Picnic Parade; Grill Master
Stickers:  Reminisce:  Backyard Bash
Other misc. embellishments are from my stash here, no particular vendor

I did have every intention of making a couple more cards.  There was so much goodness in Darlene's kit I definitely could have made three cards at least.  Of course, even though I had great plans, I only got one card made.  Here it is:

We were also asked by our hostess, to post a favorite receipe to take along to cookouts.  Here is one that is very simple and loved by everyone:

Raspberry Jell-O Salad:
1 Large Box of Sugar Free Raspberry Jell-O
1 10 oz. package frozen raspberries
2 C. boiling water

Add boiling water to Jell-O and mix until dissolved.  Pour raspberries into large glass measuring cup and add cold water until measures 2 cups.

Stir frozen raspberries/water mixture into  Raspberry Jell-O and stir.  Pour into Jell-O mold and refrigerate until set.  (Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.)  When ready to serve, garnish with Cool Whip and serve.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please be sure to visit all the Darlings websites to see their creations (see my sidebar).

  1. Oh that image is a hoot! Of course he has a 'kiss the cook' apron on!

I love the colors you worked with and how you featured cute images from the DP in the punched circles.

What would a cookout be without a little j-e-l-l-o?! Yummy!!

  3. Oh Deb... your card is adorable! You used that baker's twine so creatively (will have to remember that one!) and the image is colored to perfection. Love all the details - and am in awe of you using the eyelets. I never can get them to work to suit me, so just avoid using eyelets. LOL!

Now the recipe - thanks for following the guidelines of our hostesses - but........ yes, there is something to add to my "Jeanette Doesn't Eat" list. I don't eat jello. ;) I'm sure many others will love your recipe, though. I'm just weird.

  9. Debbie, this is over-the-top!! Love, love, LOVE the ant packing away with a big burger! And the circle accents from the DP are so imaginative. I really like how you colored the couple to kind of match each other. Doesn't it seem like couples who've been together forever start to do that? LOL
Thanks for sharing your recipe and your creative talents with us this round!
